The Thee Generation

Last October, my church took a group of teens up to Menominee Falls, Wisconsin for the Cola Clash + at Falls Baptist Church. While there, I committed to be a part of the Thee Generation. See, our generation is all self-centered. Even as Christians, we focus so much on ourselves that we forget to look up! The messages preached that week showed me - and hundreds of other teens - that we can't do this alone. Salvation? impossible. The Christian life? impossible. Giving the Gospel and seeing others come to Christ? impossible. Except for Christ. I can't, but He can. With God, nothing is impossible.

So I say all that to come to now. To be completely honest, I had almost forgotten about the Thee Generation and the commitment I had made last year. "Total Surrender, Total Dependence". Until the other day, when I was reading in Psalms 78. This entire Psalm is about the wondrous works of God...and the generation that forgot. The Bible says four times that they forgot His works, believed not, trusted not, remembered not.

The Psalm starts out by one person saying "Listen up everyone! We have heard these stories that our fathers have told us. And we will not let our children forget the wonders of the Lord. We will not be the generation that forgot." Then verses 6-7 say, "That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:"

So, who will you be? The "stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart alright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God" (vs 8)? Or will you join the Thee Generation? A generation of teens and young adults committed to hearing God and obeying His voice; committed to total surrender, total dependence.

You can go to the Thee Generation website and sign up to be a part of the world-changing generation, hear awesome messages, and also see more information about the next Cola Clash + Youth Summit!
